Ballygorian Beg is the smaller of the paired Ballygorian townlands, covering about 506 acres and bordered on the west by Ballygorian More. Its Irish form, Baile Ó gCorraín Beag, is cautiously glossed as perhaps ‘Curreen’s’ or ‘Curran’s townland, little’. The origin is not settled.
